Nominations for the 2025 awards close at 5pm on 23 September. We will announce our finalists in October and our winners on 20 November.
Nominating is easy! The Royal Automobile Club Historic Awards are free to enter.
Eligibility Period
Eligibility is based on achievements made within the period between 24 September 2024 and 23 September 2025. Nominations close on 23 September 2025.
Can I nominate myself?
You can nominate a third party or nominate yourself or your organisation, event etc. So don't be shy - if you've done something splendid, tell us!
Read the category descriptions!
It's vital you read the descriptions to be sure that your nominee will be eligible for that category (see the Categories tab, or click on the Categories button further down this page). And if you're not sure, email us and we'll guide you.
What is the nomination process?
All nominations must be made via our online form (accessed via the 'Nominate Now' button below).
We ask you to provide an initial statement of a maximum of 1000 words, explaining why your nominee deserves to be considered for the selected award. You also have the opportunity to upload supporting evidence - further text, photographs etc. - and/or a link to online supporting evidence, if you wish.
The more information you can give us the better, as everything you submit is put before the judges. If it's a Restoration nomination, for example, give us the history of the vehicle, tell us about the condition it was in when the restoration started, document the challenges faced and ingenuity required to research the vehicle and restore it. And include plenty of before, during and after photos, along with some lovely period images of the vehicle where possible.
Nominating in Young Achiever or Personal Endeavour? Tell us what makes that person special - what have they done that you are celebrating? If it's Young Achiever you can talk about what they have done during their time in the historic motoring world, and where they are now with it. For Personal Endeavour please remember that we're looking solely at an individual's achievement since 24 September 2024, though that achievement can have been the culmination of something which has taken many years to come to fruition.
For the two event categories (Competitive Event, Motoring Spectacle), provide as many photos (or links to photos), YouTube video links etc as you can, to really make our judges feel they were there. And tell us what made this even shine this year.
It's quite easy for Outstanding Journalism - send us a high-res PDF of the print feature, or a link to an online feature, podcast or YouTube video. And for Innovation, 'sell' the product, event, initiative to us with as much information as possible. What is truly innovative about it? What are the benefits of this innovation to the historic motoring world or to classic vehicle owners?
And for Museums & Collections, we want to know what exceptional achievements have been made by a UK-based museum or collection over the year since 24 September 2024. It might be a stunning new exhibition, brilliant educational initiative. Perhaps the museum has opened in a new location or expanded on its current site. Or gone on the road with exhibits, showcasing the historic motoring world to a huge audience.

Wonderful things can come in small packages, so don't worry if the event you're thinking about nominating wasn't on a massive scale. Was it perfectly formed? Did it bring together some truly outstanding vehicles in an incredible atmosphere?
